Need to Renew Your ICC Certifications?

Not everyone has the time to spend sitting in a classroom. As a proud ICC preferred provider, OIC lets you earn continuing education units for the majority of our courses right from the luxury of your own home. 

As an OIC student, you’ll receive an interactive online learning experience where you can accrue up to 4.5 CEUs toward ICC certification renewal dependent on the course. CEUs are available from all of OIC’s courses outside of the Special Inspector General Requirements (GR) course. Courses marked as 40 hours are eligible for 4.0 CEUs while courses marked as 45 hours are eligible for 4.5 CEUs. Because it is a shorter class, completing the Spray-Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector course will only result in 3.0 CEUs.

Why ICC Inspector Certification Renewal is Important

By earning ICC certification, you have demonstrated your expertise and credibility in the inspection field. However, ICC certifications are only valid for 3 years. To maintain this valuable recognition and the benefits it affords you in the job market, you’ll need to renew your ICC certification before it expires.

How to Renew Your ICC Certification

To renew your ICC inspector certification, you must complete continuing education and professional development activities, with half of all CEUs for certification renewal earned from either ICC or a member of the ICC preferred provider program. (ICC preferred providers – including OIC – are organizations that have been vetted by the ICC and are known for providing relevant, effective and high-quality educational content.) For certification renewal, you’ll also need to document and keep records for every activity you complete. For more information about renewing your certification, visit the ICC website.

Submitting CEUs from our Online Courses

If you’re ready to earn your ICC CEUs online and renew your certification, OIC can help. Here are the steps we recommend you follow.

• Review the ICC Renewal Bulletin to make sure you understand what CEUs are required for certification renewal.
• Sign up for one of our eligible online courses or find us (provider #2631) on the full ICC preferred provider course list.
• After earning your CEUs, submit your CEUs via the myICC dashboard or complete the paper application for an additional processing fee.
