A commercial plumbing inspector also verifies the installation, design, and inspections for all stormwater systems, special waste systems, and all nonflammable medical and nonmedical oxygen piping systems as well as verifies compliance with the International Plumbing Code and the standards of the local jurisdiction.
Specific responsibilities and duties for commercial plumbing inspectors include verifying the following:
- Proper pipe sizing, installation, design, and testing for the DWV system, potable and nonpotable water supply and storage systems
- The installation of all regulated safety devices, water heater installation, and appurtenances
- The installation, design, and protection of all specialty fixtures that serve special functions and the connections to the DWV and water supply system
- The design, pipe sizing, and testing for the storm drainage system
- The design and installation of all special piping and storage systems for non-flammable medical gases and non-medical oxygen systems
